The discovery brief

Where they look

Search, often one-handed, often at an odd hour

What they ask

"organic cotton sleepsuit 6-9 months flame retardant free"

Why you are missing

Your titles carry a style name and an age code, and nothing else

01

The story

Hannah sells organic children's clothing, around 1,200 SKUs across newborn to age eight. Her customers are among the most precise searchers on the internet: they type an age band, a fabric, and a safety qualifier all in one query, and they do it at eleven at night with a baby on one arm.

Her product titles read "Willow Sleepsuit — Sage, 6-9M". The age band is there, but the fabric is buried in a spec table, the certification is on an about page, and the words "flame retardant free" appear nowhere on the site even though it is true and it is exactly what people search.

Putting the material and safety language into descriptions and metadata, publishing the certification questions as FAQ schema, and describing every image changed the traffic profile within a couple of months. The queries were always there; the matching text was not.

02

When SEO decides the sale

Three beats. Everything StoreSEO does on this page is aimed at the gap between the second and the third.

  1. 1

    The search

Age band, material and a safety qualifier, all in one query. Parents search with unusual precision.

  2. 2

    The check

Fabric certification, chemical treatments, washing durability. Trust is decided before price is.

  3. 3

    The purchase

Frequently a gift, frequently urgent, and abandoned instantly if the page cannot confirm the size band.

03

What a store like this actually needs

01

Age, size and fabric in indexable text

Parents combine all three in one query. If any of them lives only in a variant selector or a spec image, the query cannot match.

02

Trust questions answered up front

Certifications, chemical treatments, washing durability and safety standards decide the purchase before price does.

03

Catalog-scale maintenance

Children's ranges churn constantly across many size bands, so optimization has to run automatically or it will not run.

04

The fix

Three StoreSEO capabilities that do most of the work here. Each links to the guide that sets it up.

Bulk SEO optimization

Applies age, fabric and category language across the whole catalog at once instead of one size band at a time.

Read the guide

FAQ schema

Publishes the certification and safety answers as structured data on the products they apply to.

Bulk AI alt text

Describes every product photograph, which matters in a category where parents browse visually and search by image.

The exact prompt

Connect your store via the StoreSEO MCP server or the AI Toolkit, then paste this into Claude or ChatGPT. It is written for this business, not as a generic template.

Copy & paste
Using StoreSEO, parents search my category by age band, fabric and safety qualifier together. Rewrite my product meta and descriptions so each item states its age band, material and any relevant certification in plain indexable text rather than in a spec table. Add FAQ schema covering fabric certification, chemical treatments and washing guidance, generate alt text for all product images, and show me a before and after by size band.

What happens: Your assistant moves the age, fabric and safety language into text that can actually match a parent's query, and publishes the trust answers as schema.

06

Questions

Why is size and age information not enough on its own?

Because parents rarely search size alone. The typical query combines an age band with a material and often a safety qualifier, so all three need to exist in indexable text on the page. Spec tables rendered as images and variant dropdowns do not provide that.

Do safety certifications help with search or only with trust?

Both. Certification terms are searched directly, and publishing them as FAQ schema means they can appear in rich results and be quoted by AI assistants answering questions about safe children's clothing.
