The story
Ingrid supplies industrial and maintenance parts. Her customers are maintenance engineers and procurement teams who search an exact identifier — a bearing designation, a seal standard, a material grade, a tolerance class — and expect to find a page stating stock and lead time.
Her catalog carried generic product names and internal supplier codes. The identifiers were in a specification table rendered as an image, and the lead-time information lived in the account portal behind a login.
Publishing identifiers and specifications as text, adding custom JSON-LD for the specification properties, and building family pages around standards turned an invisible catalog into one that appears exactly when a requisition is being sourced.
