Best Keyword Rank Tracker Apps for Shopify (2026)
Written by M Asif Rahman
Updated October 10, 2026: re-checked every app’s Shopify App Store listing for pricing, keyword limits, ratings and AI search claims, and added SEOKart, StoreRanker and Audit. This guide was first published in May 2026.
The best keyword rank tracker for most Shopify stores is one that sits inside your Shopify admin and covers the number of keywords you actually need. If you only need rank tracking, Wizardo is the cheapest dedicated option (10 keywords free, 100 keywords for $7.99/month). If you want rank tracking bundled with the rest of your SEO work, StoreSEO, SEOKart and SEO Metriks all include it, and SEO Metriks is the only app here whose listing says it checks whether ChatGPT and Gemini mention your store.
Honesty note: StoreSEO is our product. Every price, plan limit, rating and review count below comes from the apps’ Shopify App Store listings, checked on October 10, 2026. Where a listing does not mention something, we say “Not listed” rather than assume the app can’t do it.
TL;DR: Which Shopify Rank Tracker Should You Pick?
| If you want… | Look at | Why (from the listing) |
|---|---|---|
| The cheapest dedicated rank tracker | Wizardo | 10 keywords free, 100 keywords for $7.99/month, daily updates |
| The most tracked keywords on one plan | Wizardo | Business plan: 1,000 keywords across 50 domains for $85.99/month |
| Rank tracking plus on-page SEO, schema and images | StoreSEO or SEOKart | Both are Built for Shopify, both include rank tracking on the free plan |
| 100 tracked keywords inside an all-in-one SEO app | SEOKart | 100 keywords on every paid plan, from $20/month |
| A check on ChatGPT and Gemini mentions | SEO Metriks | Listing says it checks whether AI assistants mention your store |
| No keyword research at all | Audit | Generates keywords from your product catalog automatically |
| Rank tracking alongside AI blog automation | StoreRanker | Keyword bank and rank tracking on Starter ($29.99/month) and up |
What Is a Keyword Rank Tracker, and Why Does a Shopify Store Need One?
A keyword rank tracker checks where your store appears in search results for the keywords you choose, then records it over time. That history is what lets you connect a change you made (a new product title, a rewritten collection description, added schema) to a movement in position.
Google Search Console also shows average positions, but only for queries Google already associates with your site. A rank tracker lets you watch keywords you are targeting but don’t rank for yet, filter by country and device, and in most of the apps below, compare against competitor domains.
Shopify-specific trackers have one practical advantage: they run inside your Shopify admin, often in the same app where you edit meta tags and schema. You see the ranking change and fix the page in one place. For background on how classic rankings relate to AI answers, see our guide to GEO vs AEO vs traditional SEO for Shopify stores.
How Do the Best Shopify Keyword Rank Tracker Apps Compare?
All figures from the Shopify App Store listings, checked October 10, 2026.
| App | Best for | Free plan | Starting paid price | Keywords tracked | Rating & reviews |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| Wizardo | Dedicated, low-cost rank tracking | Yes (10 keywords) | $7.99/month (Growth) | 10 / 100 / 300 / 1,000 by plan | 5.0 (1 review) |
| SEOKart | 100 keywords in an all-in-one SEO app | Yes, “Free Plan (Trial)” (10 keywords) | $20/month (Pro) | Free: 10. Paid: 100 | 5.0 (67 reviews) |
| SEO Metriks | Rank tracking plus AI assistant mention checks | Yes (no rank tracking listed on free) | $14.99/month (Lite) | Lite: 30 keywords, 3 competitors | 4.2 (9 reviews) |
| StoreRanker | Rank tracking bundled with AI blog automation | Yes (200 one-time credits, Google rank checking) | $9.99/month (Micro); rank tracking listed from $29.99/month | Not listed | 5.0 (28 reviews) |
| Audit | Hands-off tracking from your product catalog | No | $25/month (Pro) | Not listed (keywords generated from catalog, manual keywords allowed) | No reviews yet |
About “Not listed”: StoreSEO’s paid plans and StoreRanker’s plans don’t publish a keyword cap on the App Store listing. Check inside the app or ask the developer before you commit if keyword volume matters to you.
Which Is the Best Keyword Rank Tracker App for Shopify in 2026?
1. StoreSEO (rank tracking inside a full SEO app)
StoreSEO is an AI SEO and image optimizer for Shopify with rank tracking built in. It is Built for Shopify, rated 5.0 from 754 reviews (98% five-star), and has been on the App Store since October 2021.
What the listing shows for rank tracking:
- Free Forever plan: up to 5 keywords tracked, plus 25 products optimized, 200 AI credits, 25 images, LLMs.txt generator and Agents.md editor, SEO Migrator and 24/7 chat support.
- Rank tracking, competitor analysis and keyword analysis are listed under the app’s features.
- Google Search Console and Google Analytics connections on paid plans, so you can compare tracked positions with real impressions and clicks.
What StoreSEO’s own rank tracker page adds (this is our product, so we can describe it beyond the listing): up to 5 competitors tracked next to you, per-keyword location, device, language and search engine settings, daily ranking history graphs, AI keyword suggestions, and visibility across five search verticals, including AI Search overviews, shopping, video and organic results. New keywords take about 7 days to show data.
Paid plans (7-day free trial on each):
| Plan | Price | Products | Images | AI credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $14.99/month | 100 | 500 | 1,000 |
| Essential | $39.99/month | 250 | 2,000 | 5,000 |
| Advanced | $249.99/month | 10,000 | 50,000 | 50,000 |
Paid plans add one-click schema markup, instant indexing requests and automatic sitemap submission to Google. Advanced adds multilingual SEO.
StoreSEO also has a built-in MCP connector, so Claude or ChatGPT can fix alt text, meta tags and schema directly in your store. See how to connect StoreSEO MCP to your AI assistant. You can read more about the tracker itself on the StoreSEO Keyword Rank Tracker page.
Where others win: The listing does not publish a keyword limit for paid plans, so if you know you need 300 or 1,000 tracked keywords, Wizardo states those numbers clearly. The free plan’s 5 keywords is enough to test the workflow, not to track a whole catalog.
2. Wizardo: Keyword Rank Tracker (cheapest dedicated tracker)
Wizardo does one job: it tracks Google SERP positions, updated daily, with filters for rank, country, language and device, and tags for organizing keywords. It launched in January 2024 and has one review (5.0).
| Plan | Price | Keywords | Domains | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | 10 | 1 | Daily update |
| Growth | $7.99/month ($76.70/year) | 100 | 3 | Advanced filter |
| Advanced | $21.99/month ($211.10/year) | 300 | 10 | Advanced and tag filters |
| Business | $85.99/month ($859.90/year) | 1,000 | 50 | Advanced and tag filters |
Paid plans include a 7-day free trial.
Where it wins: It is the cheapest way on this list to track 100 keywords, and the only app that lists a 1,000-keyword plan. The domain limit means you can track rankings for more than one site.
Trade-off: It is rank tracking only. Meta tags, schema, image optimization and audits need a separate app. With one review, there is also little public feedback to go on.
3. SEOKart: AI SEO Optimizer (100 keywords in an all-in-one app)
SEOKart is an all-in-one SEO app with what its listing calls “an in-built rank tracker, no need for third-party tools.” It is Built for Shopify, rated 5.0 from 67 reviews, and launched in June 2020.
| Plan | Price | Products (AI optimization) | Rank tracking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free Plan (Trial) | Free | 50 pages | 10 keywords |
| Pro | $20/month ($216/year) | 1,000 | 100 keywords |
| Plus | $30/month ($324/year) | 5,000 | 100 keywords |
| Max | $40/month ($432/year) | 10,000 | 100 keywords |
Paid plans also list unlimited image optimization, bulk meta tag editing, schemas, a 404 fixer and “Cruise Control” auto-SEO.
Where it wins: 100 tracked keywords at $20/month is a clear, published number, which StoreSEO’s paid plans don’t list.
Trade-off: The keyword cap stays at 100 on every paid plan; higher tiers raise product limits, not keywords.
4. SEO Metriks All-in-One SEO (rank tracking plus AI assistant checks)
SEO Metriks combines audits, AI content and rank tracking. Its listing says you can “track keyword rankings daily, monitor competitors, and check whether AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini mention your store.” It is rated 4.2 from 9 reviews and has been listed since December 2015.
- Free: PageSpeed score, broken link scan and redirects, site audit, social preview, JSON-LD schema, image filename rename. Rank tracking is not listed on the free plan.
- Lite, $14.99/month (14-day free trial): 30 keywords tracked on Google, up to 3 competitors, up to 100 backlinks monitored, up to 10,000 pages scanned, monthly scan schedule.
Where it wins: It is the only app in this list whose listing explicitly mentions checking ChatGPT and Gemini for mentions of your store.
Trade-off: 30 keywords is the smallest paid allowance here, and the most recent reviews shown on the listing are several years old.
5. StoreRanker AI SEO & AI Blog (rank tracking with AI blogging)
StoreRanker is mainly an AI blog and product SEO automation app; its tagline includes “sitemap & rank tracker.” It launched in May 2026 and is rated 5.0 from 28 reviews.
- Free: 200 one-time credits, keyword bank and discovery, Google rank checking.
- Micro, $9.99/month: 250 credits per month and automated backlink building. Rank tracking is not listed on this plan.
- Starter, $29.99/month and up (Growth $59.99, Scale $150, Max $300): “Keyword bank & rank tracking” and SEO reports, plus automated blog publishing.
Where it wins: If you want blog posts published on a schedule and rank checks in the same app, this is the only option here built around that.
Trade-off: The listing does not say how many keywords you can track, how often positions update, or whether competitors are supported.
6. Audit (automatic tracking from your catalog)
Audit, by BinaryLab, reads your product catalog and generates keywords for you, then tracks Google positions every 48 hours in any country and language, on mobile and desktop. You can add manual keywords too, and it keeps up to 24 months of history depending on plan. Pro is $25/month and also lists Search Console and Analytics connections, AI SEO and competitor views.
Where it wins: No keyword research step. Useful if you have a large catalog and don’t know where to start.
Trade-off: It launched in July 2026 and has no reviews yet. Updates are every 48 hours, not daily. The listing notes that the developer doesn’t offer direct support in English (the app is in Spanish and English).
Can Any Shopify App Track Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or ChatGPT Rankings?
This is the question behind many searches for “best AI Overviews keyword rank tracker” and “best ChatGPT rank tracker.” Based on the App Store listings checked October 10, 2026:
| App | AI Overviews / AI Mode tracking | ChatGPT / AI assistant tracking |
|---|---|---|
| StoreSEO | Yes: tracks AI Search overview visibility as one of five search verticals (per StoreSEO’s rank tracker page; not on the App Store listing) | Not listed (the MCP connector lets Claude and ChatGPT edit your SEO, which is different from tracking) |
| Wizardo | Not listed | Not listed |
| SEOKart | Not listed | Not listed |
| SEO Metriks | Not listed | Yes: checks whether ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants mention your store |
| StoreRanker | Not listed | Not listed (it optimizes content to be recommended by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok, and checks AI crawler access) |
| Audit | Not listed | Not listed |
“Not listed” means the App Store listing doesn’t mention it. StoreSEO’s row uses our own product documentation, since it is our app. An app may have the feature in-app or on its own website, so ask the developer if AI search tracking is a requirement. For how AI assistants pick products in the first place, read how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity recommend Shopify products.
What About Semrush, Ahrefs and Nightwatch?
The earlier version of this guide included Semrush, Ahrefs and Nightwatch. We searched the Shopify App Store for each on October 10, 2026 and none has its own app listing there, so we can’t verify their plans or features against a Shopify listing the way we did for the apps above.
They are standalone SEO platforms that track any website, including Shopify stores, from their own dashboards. If you manage several non-Shopify sites as well, a general platform like these can sit alongside a Shopify app. Check pricing and features on each vendor’s own site.
What Should You Look For in a Shopify Keyword Rank Tracker?
- Keyword allowance per dollar. Wizardo and SEOKart publish exact caps; compare against the number of product and collection keywords you actually care about.
- Update frequency. Wizardo and SEO Metriks list daily tracking; Audit lists every 48 hours.
- Location and device targeting. Wizardo and Audit list country, language and device options; StoreSEO’s rank tracker page lists location, device, language and search engine per keyword.
- Competitor tracking. SEO Metriks lists up to 3 competitors on Lite; StoreSEO, SEOKart and Audit list competitor analysis as a feature.
- What else is in the app. A tracker that sits next to your meta tag and schema tools shortens the time from “this keyword dropped” to “this page is fixed.” Our roundup of the best Shopify SEO apps covers the wider tool set.
Tracking only tells you what moved. When a keyword slips, the usual suspects are covered in our guides on keyword cannibalization, schema markup and CTR and Core Web Vitals. If you haven’t chosen keywords yet, start with keyword research for Shopify, then group them with the Keyword Cluster Generator.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is the best SEO keyword rank tracker for Shopify?
It depends on what else you need. For rank tracking alone, Wizardo is the cheapest listed option (10 keywords free, 100 for $7.99/month). For rank tracking inside a full SEO app, StoreSEO (5.0, 754 reviews, up to 5 keywords free) and SEOKart (5.0, 67 reviews, 100 keywords from $20/month) are both Built for Shopify. All figures are from the Shopify App Store listings checked October 10, 2026.
2. What is the best AI Overviews or AI Mode keyword rank tracker?
StoreSEO’s rank tracker reports whether you appear in AI Search overviews for each tracked keyword, as one of five search verticals, according to its rank tracker page. None of the other five apps here mention AI Overviews or AI Mode tracking on their App Store listings. If it is a hard requirement, test it on the free plan and confirm with the developer before you pay.
3. Is there a ChatGPT rank tracker for Shopify stores?
SEO Metriks is the only app here whose listing says it checks whether ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants mention your store. It is a mention check, not a position ranking like Google results. Its Lite plan is $14.99/month with a 14-day free trial.
4. Which Shopify SEO app includes keyword tracking for free?
Four apps list rank tracking on a free plan: StoreSEO (up to 5 keywords), Wizardo (10 keywords, 1 domain), SEOKart (10 keywords on its “Free Plan (Trial)”) and StoreRanker (Google rank checking with 200 one-time credits). SEO Metriks has a free plan, but rank tracking starts on Lite.
5. Do I need a rank tracker if I use Google Search Console?
Search Console shows average positions for queries Google already shows you for, which is useful and free. A rank tracker adds keywords you are targeting but not yet ranking for, fixed country and device settings, and competitor comparisons. Many stores use both: Search Console to find keywords, a tracker to watch the ones that matter.
6. How many keywords should a Shopify store track?
Track your main product and collection terms plus the long-tail queries that already bring sales. For a small store that is often a few dozen keywords; plan limits on this list range from 5 (StoreSEO free) to 1,000 (Wizardo Business). Start small, and only add keywords you would act on if they moved.
Try Before You Commit
Every app in this guide has either a free plan or a free trial except Audit, so you can test the tracking workflow on your own store before paying. If you want rank tracking in the same app where you fix meta tags, schema and images, install StoreSEO from the Shopify App Store and start with the Free Forever plan.
