The story
Lena founded a small skincare line — six products, carefully formulated, genuinely good. Her category is the one where AI-assisted shopping arrived first. Her customers no longer browse; they describe their skin to an assistant and ask what to use, and they arrive already holding a shortlist.
Her product pages were written as brand copy: a name, a mood, a short poetic paragraph. They did not state the active concentration, the skin concerns addressed, the fragrance status, or how the product fits into a routine. When an assistant assembled a shortlist, there was nothing on her pages to justify including her.
She rewrote every page around ingredients and concerns, published the routine and compatibility questions as FAQ schema, generated snippets, and published an LLMs.txt describing the range. Being quotable turned out to be the whole job.
