Get products ready for AI search with Manus
Getting products ready for AI search with Manus means asking a task agent to read each product's GEO score in StoreSEO, fix what a tool can fix, and pause to put StoreSEO's questions to you before it rewrites a thin description.

Set up Manus for StoreSEO
Skip this if Manus is already connected. The full guide, with the alternatives, is on the Manus page.
- 1
Create an access token in StoreSEO
In the StoreSEO app, open Settings, then AI Toolkit, and generate a named personal access token. Copy it now and keep it out of any chat.

- 2
Add StoreSEO as a custom MCP server
In Manus, open Settings, then Integrations, then Custom MCP Servers, and choose Add Server. Give it a name, paste this URL as the server URL and enter your token as the authentication, as a Bearer token.

- 3
Check it and use it
Manus verifies it can reach the server and read its tools. Then start a task that names StoreSEO, so Manus uses the connector.

How does this work in Manus?
GEO is the AI readiness score for products, and it exists for products only. You start a Manus task that names StoreSEO, such as find my five products that AI shopping agents will understand worst and fix them. Manus calls storeseo_start, which includes a GEO overview, then storeseo_list_resources and storeseo_get_resource_seo to read each failing criterion. Some are fixable with tools, namely FAQs, the AI snippet, image alt text and product schema. Others, such as the product title, category and price, you change in Shopify or the StoreSEO app, and a good task report says which is which for every product.
The tool fixes come in a sensible order. If product schema is off, it is a shop-wide setting, so turning it on through storeseo_update_schema_settings credits every product at once, and Manus should say so before it does it. FAQs and the AI snippet come from storeseo_preview_resource_optimization, which spends credit and saves nothing, and then storeseo_apply_resource_optimization after your yes. A multi-step task like this is a natural fit for Manus because it can carry the plan from the first read to the final apply while you stay in one place.
The description is where an autonomous agent needs a hard stop. storeseo_scan_product_description scores the description on seven pillars and returns questions about materials, dimensions, what is in the box and care. Manus has to put those questions to you word for word and wait, because your answers become the facts in the new copy. Only then does storeseo_write_product_description run, and it saves immediately. The response holds the only copy of the old text, so ask Manus to paste it into the task before it moves on.

You: Use StoreSEO to get my Merino Beanie ready for AI search.
- storeseo_start read-only
- storeseo_get_resource_seo read-only
-
Manus: Illustrative result: the GEO score is low, and the product has no FAQs, no AI snippet and a two-line description. A preview spends AI credit and saves nothing. Should I preview the FAQs and snippet?
-
You: Yes, preview them.
- storeseo_preview_resource_optimization preview
-
Manus: The draft projects the GEO score from 22 to 61. Apply the FAQs and AI snippet now, and keep the old description until we scan it?
-
You: Yes, apply those two.
- storeseo_apply_resource_optimization needs approval

What StoreSEO does: ai search readiness
GEO is StoreSEO's AI readiness score for products. The agent reads which GEO criteria fail, fixes the ones a tool can fix (FAQs, AI snippet, alt text, product schema), and can rewrite a thin description from your own answers to StoreSEO's questions.
Requires: FAQs, AI snippets and descriptions spend AI Content Optimizer credit. The product needs a focus keyword, set in the StoreSEO app, before a description scan or rewrite.
- 1
Read the GEO checklist
The agent reads the product's GEO block: the score and every AI-readiness criterion that passes or fails.
- 2
Turn on product schema if it is off
Product JSON-LD is a shop-wide setting, so enabling it clears that criterion for every product at once. If you then decide not to apply the rest, the agent switches back off only the schema it turned on.
- 3
Preview FAQs and the AI snippet
The preview generates FAQs and an AI snippet (summary, benefits, best for) and projects the new SEO and GEO scores without saving.
- 4
Scan the description
For a thin or missing description, StoreSEO scores it on seven pillars (identity, materials, dimensions, features, use cases, what is included, care) and returns questions. The agent asks you each one, word for word.
- 5
Write and apply
With your answers, StoreSEO writes the description and saves it immediately; the response holds the only copy of the old text. The previewed FAQs and snippet are applied after your yes.

Rules Manus follows
- The scan's questions go to you word for word and in order; the agent does not answer them for you.
- A description is only written without questions when you decline to answer or authorize a bulk run without them.
- Writing a description replaces the current one at once with no undo, so the agent asks first and keeps the old text the response returns.
- If the agent enabled product schema for this flow and you stop before applying, it turns that schema back off; it never disables a schema you already had on.
- Criteria only you can fix get one link to the product's fix page, not a link per criterion.
In Manus
Do not let a Manus task answer the description questions for you, and do not tell it to skip them to save time. Skipping questions is something only you decide, and a description written without your facts is a guess. The write also replaces the live description at once with no undo, so ask Manus to keep the previous text from the response in the task before you leave. The product needs a focus keyword set in the StoreSEO app first, and a scheduled task should never include any of these writes.
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
Can Manus rewrite my product descriptions without asking me questions?
It should not. StoreSEO returns questions for facts it cannot infer, and the agent is told to put them to you word for word. Skipping them is only for when you decline to answer or authorize a bulk run without them.
Does Manus need a focus keyword before it scans a description?
Yes. The product must already have a focus keyword, and no tool can set it. Set it in the StoreSEO app, then ask Manus to scan the description again.
What is a GEO score in StoreSEO?
GEO is StoreSEO's AI readiness score for products. It measures how well a product can be understood by AI shopping agents and generative search, using criteria such as FAQs, an AI snippet, image alt text, product schema and the quality of the description.
Can I undo a rewritten product description?
Not inside StoreSEO. The new description is saved immediately and StoreSEO keeps no revision history. The response returns the previous description once, so ask the agent to keep it for you before it writes.
Why does the agent ask me questions before writing a description?
StoreSEO scans the description on seven pillars and returns questions for the facts it cannot infer, such as materials or what is in the box. Your answers become stated facts in the new copy instead of guesses.
Does enabling product schema affect every product?
Yes. Product JSON-LD is a shop-wide setting, so turning it on clears that criterion for every product at once, and turning it off removes it everywhere.
