Audit your store's SEO with Manus
Running a Shopify SEO audit with Manus means giving a general task agent your StoreSEO custom MCP server and one plain request, so it works through the listing on its own and returns a ranked worklist of the products, collections, pages and posts that score worst.

Set up Manus for StoreSEO
Skip this if Manus is already connected. The full guide, with the alternatives, is on the Manus page.
- 1
Create an access token in StoreSEO
In the StoreSEO app, open Settings, then AI Toolkit, and generate a named personal access token. Copy it now and keep it out of any chat.

Add StoreSEO as a custom MCP server
In Manus, open Settings, then Integrations, then Custom MCP Servers, and choose Add Server. Give it a name, paste this URL as the server URL and enter your token as the authentication, as a Bearer token.

Check it and use it
Manus verifies it can reach the server and read its tools. Then start a task that names StoreSEO, so Manus uses the connector.

How does this work in Manus?
You work in a Manus task, after adding StoreSEO once under Settings, Integrations, Custom MCP Servers with your access token as the Bearer credential. Because StoreSEO is not in Manus's connector directory, the task has to name it, so you open with something like use StoreSEO to audit my store and tell me where to start. Manus calls storeseo_start, which returns the conversation id every other tool needs plus a snapshot of how many resources are optimized, need improvement or are not optimized. It then calls storeseo_list_resources sorted by score and storeseo_get_resource_seo on the weakest ones. All three are reads, so the audit runs from start to finish without anyone saying yes.
What suits Manus here is that it treats the request as a job rather than a chat turn. It can page through a large catalog, read the checklist for each low scorer and come back with one summary instead of a stream of tool output. For each product it names the failing criteria by their visible titles, shows the GEO score for AI readiness next to the SEO score, and separates the fixes StoreSEO can make, such as meta, FAQs, the AI snippet and alt text, from the ones only you can make in the StoreSEO app, such as the focus keyword.
The audit is also the one job that fits a recurring Manus task without any adjustment, because every tool it uses only reads. A weekly run lets you compare this Monday's worst ten with last Monday's and see whether the list is shrinking. Treat the audit as the first half of a loop: read the report, pick two or three items, and start a separate task where you can preview and approve the fixes.
-
You: Use StoreSEO to audit my store and tell me where to start.
- storeseo_start read-only
- storeseo_list_resources read-only
- storeseo_get_resource_seo read-only
-
Manus: Illustrative result: 52 of your 180 products are not optimized, and the eight lowest score between 12 and 31. Seven are missing a meta description and image alt text. Two have no focus keyword, which you set in the StoreSEO app. Want me to turn this into a weekly task that only reports?
-
You: Yes, report only.

What StoreSEO does: store seo audit
StoreSEO scores every product, collection, page and blog post against its SEO checklist, and scores products for AI readiness (GEO) as well. An agent opens a session, lists the weakest resources first and reads the per-criterion analysis for each, so you get a ranked worklist instead of a dashboard to click through.
- 1
Open a StoreSEO session
The agent calls the start tool first. It returns a conversation id every later call needs, plus a snapshot of your store: how many resources are optimized, need improvement or are not optimized, image status, rank tracking and which features are set up.
- 2
List the weakest resources
It lists products, collections, pages or articles sorted by score, lowest first, or filtered to the ones marked not optimized. Products also carry a GEO score and their AI-readiness issues.
- 3
Read the checklist for each one
For each candidate it reads the full SEO record: current meta fields, focus keyword, score, every criterion that passes or fails, image status, FAQs and AI snippet.
- 4
Sort fixes by who can make them
It separates what a StoreSEO tool can fix (meta, handle, FAQs, AI snippet, image alt text, schema) from what only you can change in the app or in Shopify admin (the focus keyword, the product title, category, inventory).
- 5
Report a worklist
You get the resources in order, with the failing criteria in plain words and one suggested next fix. Nothing is written during an audit.

Rules Manus follows
- Every audit call is a read and runs straight away; nothing in this job changes your store.
- The agent describes criteria by their visible title, never by internal identifiers or raw status values.
- Criteria no tool can fix, such as choosing the focus keyword, are handed to you with a link into the StoreSEO app rather than guessed.
- The agent should offer one next fix at a time, tied to what it just found, instead of dumping the whole list as a checklist.
In Manus
Name StoreSEO in the task. Manus does not list StoreSEO among its prebuilt connectors, so a request that only says audit my SEO may be answered from the open web instead of from your scores. If you turn the audit into a scheduled task, keep its wording at reading and summarizing and leave the skip confirmations setting off. A scheduled run has nobody to answer a question, and a prompt that later grows to include previews or fixes would be exactly the kind of task that setting is meant to be kept away from.
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
Can Manus run my StoreSEO audit on a schedule?
Yes. Manus documents scheduled tasks that use your connected apps and run unattended. The audit tools only read, so a weekly report fits well. Keep the task report-only and leave the skip confirmations setting off.
Does the Manus audit spend any AI credit?
No. The audit uses storeseo_start, storeseo_list_resources and storeseo_get_resource_seo, which only read your scores and checklists. Credit is spent later, when you ask for a preview or a generated file.
Does an SEO audit change anything in my store?
No. The audit uses read-only tools: the session start, the resource list and the per-resource SEO record. Your store is only changed later, by a separate step you agree to.
What is the difference between the SEO score and the GEO score?
The SEO score measures a resource against StoreSEO's on-page checklist for search engines. The GEO score applies to products only and measures how ready the product is for AI shopping agents and generative search, using criteria such as FAQs, an AI snippet, alt text and product schema.
Can the agent choose my focus keyword?
No tool can set the focus keyword. The agent can tell you when the keyword is missing or looks wrong and give you a link to set it in the StoreSEO app, and several fixes such as keyword clusters and description writing need it set first.
How many products can the agent audit at once?
The listing is paginated, so the agent can walk your whole catalog page by page. In practice it is more useful to ask for the lowest scores first and work down from there.
