Hand Your Shopify SEO to Manus
Manus is a general AI agent that takes a task from request to finished result and can use connected apps along the way. With StoreSEO added as a custom MCP server, it can audit your store's SEO, prepare previews of better meta and alt text, and stop to ask before it applies anything.

What is Manus?
Manus is a general AI agent. You describe a task in plain words and it works through the steps, such as research, writing and acting in other apps, until it has a result for you.
Manus reaches other apps through connectors. Prebuilt connectors sign in with OAuth and you use one by mentioning the app in your prompt. For services that are not in its directory, Manus supports custom MCP servers, added under Settings, Integrations, Custom MCP Servers with a server name, an HTTPS server URL and authentication such as a bearer token.
Manus can also run a task on a schedule, using your connected apps, without you starting it each time. That makes it a fit for merchants who want a regular summary of their store's SEO, as long as the scheduled job only reads.
Why use Manus with StoreSEO?
Hand off the whole job
Ask for an audit and Manus works through the listing, previews fixes for the weakest products and brings back one summary to approve, instead of you opening products one by one.
Plain-words requests
You do not need to know tool names. Name StoreSEO in your task and Manus picks the right tools, then asks you before it writes anything.
A recurring report
Set a scheduled task to read your scores and Search Console insights every week and write you a summary, with nothing changed in your store.
Good to know
- StoreSEO is not in the Manus connector directory. You add it yourself as a custom MCP server, and you name it in your prompt so Manus uses it.
- Manus documents API keys, OAuth tokens and bearer tokens for custom servers but does not describe a browser sign-in for them, so connect with a StoreSEO access token. Anyone with that token can use your StoreSEO tools, so revoke it in Settings, AI Toolkit if it leaks.
- Scheduled tasks run unattended, and Manus offers a setting to skip confirmations. Do not turn that on for a StoreSEO task that writes. Keep scheduled tasks report-only.
- Rank tracking is a Pro feature, Google reports need a paid plan with Google connected, and generated content spends AI credit.
What can you ask Manus to do in StoreSEO?
Tap a prompt to copy it, then paste it into Manus.
Schedule a weekly SEO check in Manus
Manus documents scheduled tasks that run on a timetable, can use your connected apps and run unattended. For StoreSEO, make the task report-only: it should read scores and reports and write you a summary. Do not ask a scheduled task to apply content, generate files or delete anything, because you are not there to say yes, and leave the skip confirmations setting off.
Every Monday morning, use StoreSEO to read my store's SEO score breakdown, my lowest-scoring products and last week's Search Console insights. Summarize what changed. Do not apply, generate, publish or delete anything.
One connection gives Manus your whole store
Connect Manus once. It can then read and improve every part of your store below, through the same 44 StoreSEO tools and the same approval rules.
Manus guides by job
Each guide covers one StoreSEO job end to end in Manus: setup, prompts, an example session, the rules and the limits.
Which way should you connect?
MCP server with OAuth
- Best for
- Claude, ChatGPT and any client that supports remote MCP sign-in
- Sign-in
- Pick your store in Shopify and approve once
- What you get
- All 44 tools, scoped to the store you approved
MCP server with an access token
- Best for
- Terminal agents and editors, or any client without OAuth
- Sign-in
- Generate a named token in Settings, AI Toolkit and send it as a Bearer header
- What you get
- The same 44 tools; revoke the token in the app to cut access
Shopify Sidekick
- Best for
- Merchants who stay inside Shopify admin
- Sign-in
- Nothing to add: StoreSEO is installed in your store
- What you get
- SEO answers and deep links to the fix page, not the MCP tools
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
How do I connect Manus to StoreSEO?
Generate a personal access token in StoreSEO under Settings, AI Toolkit. In Manus, open Settings, then Integrations, then Custom MCP Servers, choose Add Server, enter a name, the URL https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp and your token as the authentication. Manus checks the server and reads its tools, and you can then name StoreSEO in a task.
Do I need a StoreSEO API key for Manus?
You need a personal access token from StoreSEO under Settings, AI Toolkit. Manus documents API keys, OAuth tokens and bearer tokens for custom MCP servers but does not describe a browser sign-in for them, so the token is the path this guide uses.
Is StoreSEO listed as a Manus connector?
No. StoreSEO is not in the Manus connector directory, so you add it yourself as a custom MCP server. Once added, name StoreSEO in your prompt so Manus uses it.
Will Manus change my products without asking?
StoreSEO tells the agent to preview first and wait for your yes before it applies content, optimizes images, publishes a file or deletes anything, but that is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server. Reads such as scores and reports run straight away. A scheduled Manus task runs without you, so keep it report-only and do not skip confirmations.
Which StoreSEO plan does Manus need?
Any active StoreSEO plan, including the free plan, can use the MCP server. Rank tracking is a Pro feature, Google reports need a paid plan with Google connected, and generated content spends AI credit. Manus bills its own usage under your Manus plan.
Can Manus run an SEO check on a schedule?
Yes. Manus documents scheduled tasks that can use your connected apps and run unattended. Write the task so it only reads, for example a weekly summary of scores and Search Console insights, and keep any changes for a conversation where you can say yes.
Can Manus optimize my whole catalog?
Yes, in batches. Ask it to list products by score, preview several at once and bring the previews back for you to approve together. Each preview spends AI credit, so start with the products that need it most.
How do I disconnect Manus from my store?
Remove the StoreSEO server under Settings, Integrations, Custom MCP Servers in Manus. Then revoke the token in StoreSEO under Settings, AI Toolkit, where every connected app and token is listed, so it can no longer be used.
