Run Your Shopify SEO from Antigravity
Antigravity is Google's agentic coding environment, where an AI agent plans, edits and runs tasks in your project. Connected to StoreSEO through the MCP server, its agent audits your Shopify store's SEO, previews optimized content and applies what you approve while you stay in the editor.
- One serverUrl entry in mcp_config.json
- OAuth with dynamic client registration
- Ask mode by default for unconfigured MCP tools

Antigravity: Twelve images on your Summer Dresses collection are not optimized. Compressing them needs the Image Optimizer add-on and counts against its monthly quota. Optimize the first batch?

You: Yes, do the first batch.

Antigravity: The first batch is compressed. I can restore any image if a result looks wrong. Want me to continue with the rest?

How do I connect Antigravity to StoreSEO?
- 1
Add StoreSEO in View raw config
In the Antigravity IDE open the menu in the agent side panel, choose MCP Servers, then Manage MCP Servers, then View raw config. Paste this into mcp_config.json and save. The field is serverUrl: Antigravity does not support url or httpUrl for remote servers.
JSON{ "mcpServers": { "storeseo": { "serverUrl": "https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp" } } } - 2
Sign in, then check the connection
Open Agent settings (Cmd+, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux), go to Customizations and click Authenticate next to storeseo. Pick your Shopify store and approve in the browser, copy the authorization code it shows, paste it into the settings panel and click Submit. Then ask this in the agent panel.

Or connect with an access token Optional
If you cannot use the browser sign-in, generate a token in StoreSEO under Settings, AI Toolkit and add it as a header. Keep mcp_config.json out of a public repository when it holds a token.
JSON{ "mcpServers": { "storeseo": { "serverUrl": "https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" } } } }
Sign-in
Antigravity supports OAuth through dynamic client registration, which StoreSEO's server offers. Click Authenticate next to the server, approve your Shopify store in the browser, then paste the authorization code back. Or send a StoreSEO personal access token as an Authorization Bearer header.

What is Antigravity?
Antigravity is Google's agentic coding product. Its agent plans multi-step work in your project and can call tools exposed through the Model Context Protocol, from the IDE's agent side panel.
MCP servers are defined in mcp_config.json, either globally at ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json or per workspace at .agents/mcp_config.json. A remote server uses the serverUrl field, with an optional headers object for token auth. For OAuth, Antigravity supports dynamic client registration, so a compliant server needs no extra setup.
By default, MCP tools that you have not configured run in Ask mode, which requires your approval before execution. Policy patterns of the form mcp(server/tool) let you allow specific tools.
Why use Antigravity with StoreSEO?
Your site and its SEO in one place
The agent that edits your Shopify theme can read StoreSEO's scores, apply optimized content and then open the Liquid file where a fix has to land.
Approval before a tool runs
Unconfigured MCP tools are in Ask mode, so Antigravity asks before it calls them. That sits on top of the confirmation StoreSEO tells the agent to ask for.
OAuth without a client to register
StoreSEO's server supports dynamic client registration, which Antigravity uses, so sign-in needs only your approval of the store and a pasted authorization code.
Good to know
- The field is serverUrl. Antigravity's documentation says legacy fields such as url or httpUrl are not supported, so an entry copied from another client will not connect until you rename it.
- The sign-in ends with a code you paste back into Agent settings, under Customizations, so do it in the same window where you started it.
- If you add a policy that allows mcp(storeseo/*), Antigravity stops asking and the confirmation StoreSEO asks the agent for is the only check. Allow individual read tools instead.
What can you ask Antigravity to do in StoreSEO?
Use StoreSEO to list my five lowest-scoring products and preview new meta for each.
Which product images are not optimized? Show me the list before you compress anything.
Is my llms.txt up to date? If not, say what generating a new one will publish and cost.
Show me Search Console queries for the last 28 days where we rank between 8 and 20.
Which products have no FAQ or AI snippet yet? Preview them for the first three.

Which way should you connect?
MCP server with OAuth
- Best for
- Claude, ChatGPT and any client that supports remote MCP sign-in
- Sign-in
- Pick your store in Shopify and approve once
- What you get
- All 44 tools, scoped to the store you approved
MCP server with an access token
- Best for
- Terminal agents and editors, or any client without OAuth
- Sign-in
- Generate a named token in Settings, AI Toolkit and send it as a Bearer header
- What you get
- The same 44 tools; revoke the token in the app to cut access
Shopify Sidekick
- Best for
- Merchants who stay inside Shopify admin
- Sign-in
- Nothing to add: StoreSEO is installed in your store
- What you get
- SEO answers and deep links to the fix page, not the MCP tools
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
How do I connect Antigravity to StoreSEO?
Open View raw config from the MCP Servers menu in the agent side panel and add an mcpServers entry named storeseo with serverUrl set to https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp. Then open Agent settings, Customizations, click Authenticate, approve your Shopify store and paste the authorization code back.
Why does Antigravity not use the url field?
Antigravity's documentation lists serverUrl as the field for remote servers and says legacy fields such as url or httpUrl are not supported. If you copy a config from another client, rename url to serverUrl.
Do I need a StoreSEO API key for Antigravity?
No. Antigravity supports OAuth with dynamic client registration, so you approve your store in the browser. A personal access token from StoreSEO under Settings, AI Toolkit is the alternative, sent as an Authorization Bearer value in a headers object.
Will Antigravity change my store without asking?
StoreSEO tells the agent to preview, name any cost and wait for your yes before it applies content, optimizes images, changes settings, publishes llms.txt or agents.md, writes a description or deletes anything. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server. Antigravity's own approval is the hard stop: MCP tools you have not configured run in Ask mode and wait for you.
Which StoreSEO plan do I need?
Any active StoreSEO plan, including the free plan, can use the MCP server. Rank tracking is a Pro feature, Google reports need a paid plan with Google connected, and generated content spends AI Content Optimizer credit.
Where does Antigravity keep the StoreSEO server and its sign-in?
The server entry lives in ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json for every project or .agents/mcp_config.json for one workspace. OAuth tokens are stored in ~/.gemini/antigravity/mcp_oauth_tokens.json and refresh automatically.
How do I disconnect Antigravity from my store?
Remove the storeseo entry from mcp_config.json, or set disabled to true to switch it off. You can also revoke the connection in StoreSEO under Settings, AI Toolkit, where every connected app is listed.
