How do I connect Claude Cowork to StoreSEO?

    Add StoreSEO as a custom connector

    In Cowork, open Customize, then Connectors, choose + Add and then Add custom connector. If you already added StoreSEO to your Claude account, look for it in that list first. Use this URL.

What is Claude Cowork?

Claude Cowork is Anthropic's agent for delegated knowledge work. Instead of a back-and-forth chat, you describe a task, hand it off and let Claude work through it using your connected apps, plugins and skills, then you review the result.

It uses the same custom connectors as Claude. Anthropic's documentation says custom connectors work on Claude, Cowork and Claude Desktop, are added under Customize, then Connectors, and connect from Anthropic's servers rather than from your computer.

Cowork can also run scheduled tasks. Anthropic's documentation says they run remotely on their cadence even when your computer is asleep or the desktop app is closed, can use your connected apps, and are available on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, with an admin toggle for Cowork on Team and Enterprise.

Good to know

  • A scheduled task runs without you in the conversation, so nobody is there to say yes. Keep scheduled StoreSEO tasks to reads and reports, and tell the task in plain words not to apply, generate, publish or delete anything.
  • Cowork shares the custom connector model of Claude: the Free plan allows one custom connector, and on Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector under Organization settings, Connectors.
  • On Team and Enterprise plans an admin toggle controls access to Cowork, so you may need your admin to turn it on.
  • If StoreSEO does not appear in Cowork, check Customize, Connectors inside Cowork and add it there rather than assuming a connector added elsewhere carried over.

In Cowork open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector and paste https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp. Sign in when the browser opens, pick your Shopify store and approve access. If you already added StoreSEO to your Claude account, check the connector list first.

Do I need a StoreSEO API key for Cowork?

No. Cowork signs in with OAuth through the custom connector and StoreSEO issues its own credentials. A personal access token from Settings, AI Toolkit is not needed for this client.
