Read Search Console and Analytics with Claude
Reading your Google reports with Claude means asking Anthropic's chat assistant a question about clicks, queries or traffic sources and letting it pull the answer from your Search Console and GA4 data through the StoreSEO connector, with no Google tab open.

How does this work in Claude?
You are in a Claude conversation on the web or in Claude Desktop with the StoreSEO custom connector switched on, and you type a question the way you would ask an analyst: which queries sent the most clicks last month, and how does that compare with the month before. Claude calls storeseo_start first to open the session, then storeseo_get_search_console_insights with the query dimension, and the tool call appears as a collapsible row in the chat. The reply comes back as totals for clicks, impressions, CTR and average position, the top rows ranked by clicks, and the change against the previous period of the same length.
Traffic questions go to the second tool. Ask what visitors did and Claude calls storeseo_get_analytics_report with a report type that fits, such as search_traffic for organic Google clicks over time, traffic_source for channels, page_performance for pages or key_events for conversions. Because both tools return structured rows, Claude is good at the next step: it can lay the results out as a table, pick out the queries that moved most, or set a Search Console ranking against what GA4 recorded for the same pages. Both tools are reads, so you can keep asking follow-ups in the same chat without anything being applied to your store.
Chat is the right place for the exploratory part of this job. You can ask for a different dimension, a narrower date range or a single country and device without rebuilding a report, and Claude keeps the earlier numbers in the thread so it can refer back to them. When a finding points at a fix, such as a page with plenty of impressions and a weak CTR, Claude can carry on into the meta job in the same conversation and wait for your yes before it applies anything.

What to ask Claude
Which Google queries brought the most clicks in the last 28 days, and how did they change compared with the 28 days before?
Show my top ten pages in Search Console by impressions, with CTR and average position, and flag any with a CTR under two percent.
Pull GA4 traffic by source for last month and tell me which channel grew the most.
- Which queries brought the most clicks from Google in the last 28 days, and how does that compare with the month before?
- Which product pages have high impressions but a CTR under two percent?
- Show organic search traffic from GA4 for the last three months.
- Which countries send the most visitors, and on which devices?
- Which traffic sources led to purchases last month?
What StoreSEO does: search console and analytics reports
StoreSEO connects to your Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 property. The agent reads Search Console performance by date, query, page, country, device or search appearance, and curated GA4 reports, each compared with the previous period by default.
Requires: A paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected in the app, and a GA4 property selected for Analytics reports.
- 1
Pick the question
Search Console answers how you appear in Google: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. GA4 answers what visitors do: users, engagement, pages, sources and key events.
- 2
Read the report
The agent reads the last 28 days by default, or the range you name, broken down by the dimension that fits the question.
- 3
Compare periods
Both reports include the previous period of the same length and the change per metric unless you ask otherwise.
- 4
Turn it into actions
The agent can link what it finds to the other jobs, for example pages with impressions but a low CTR are candidates for new meta.

Rules Claude follows
- Both tools are reads and run straight away.
- Connecting Google or choosing the GA4 property is done in the StoreSEO app; the agent hands you the link when it is missing.
- Numbers are reported as Google returns them; the agent does not project outcomes from them.
In Claude
A Claude chat only reaches StoreSEO when the connector is switched on for that conversation, so if the Google tools are missing, check the Search and Tools menu before you assume Google is not connected. On the Free Claude plan StoreSEO uses the one custom connector slot you get, and on Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector under Organization settings before members can sign in to it. If a report comes back with a message about Google, the fix is in the StoreSEO app, where you connect Search Console, Analytics and the GA4 property on a paid plan, not in Claude.
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
Can Claude read my Search Console and GA4 data through StoreSEO?
Yes, once Google is connected in the StoreSEO app on a paid plan and a GA4 property is selected. Claude then calls the Search Console and Analytics report tools in the chat and reads the numbers back, comparing each with the previous period.
Does asking Claude for a report use AI credit?
The two Google report tools are read-only reads, so they do not generate content. Credit is only spent when you later ask Claude to generate something, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what it will cost first.
Can the agent connect my Google account?
No. Connecting Search Console and Google Analytics, and choosing the GA4 property, is done in the StoreSEO app. If Google is not connected, the tool returns a link telling you what to set up.
Can these reports change anything?
No. Both Google tools are read-only. They never connect, configure or write anything in Google or in your store.
Which plan includes Google reports over MCP?
A paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected. Analytics reports also need a GA4 property selected in the app.
How far back can the agent look?
You can name any date range the report supports. When you do not, both tools default to the last 28 days and compare it with the 28 days before.
