ChatGPT dots Search Console and Analytics reports

Read Search Console and Analytics with ChatGPT dots

Getting Search Console and Analytics reports from a ChatGPT dot means giving an always-on agent a standing StoreSEO request for your store's Google numbers, so the monthly summary arrives written up instead of living in two dashboards.

Set up ChatGPT dots for StoreSEO

Skip this if ChatGPT dots is already connected. The full guide, with the alternatives, is on the ChatGPT dots page.

  1. 1

Create the StoreSEO app in ChatGPT

OpenAI's help center says plugins are shared across dots and ChatGPT, so you set StoreSEO up once. In ChatGPT on the web, turn on Developer mode under Settings, Security and login, open Plugins, select the plus button and create an app named StoreSEO with this MCP server URL and OAuth. Sign in when the browser asks: pick your Shopify store and approve access. If ChatGPT already has the StoreSEO app, skip this step.

  2. 2

Make sure your dot can see it

Open your dot's profile, then Customize and Plugins, and check StoreSEO is connected. Then give your dot a first task that names StoreSEO.

    Prompt
Using StoreSEO, show me my store's SEO score breakdown.

How does this work in ChatGPT dots?

Of the ten StoreSEO jobs, this one fits a scheduled dot best, because nothing in it writes. A monthly task calls storeseo_get_search_console_insights with a dimension such as query or page, for the clicks, impressions, CTR and average position over a range, and storeseo_get_analytics_report with a report type such as search_traffic, traffic_source or page_performance. By default each looks back 28 days and compares against the previous equal-length period, so the deltas come with the data. The dot's job is to turn them into sentences: which queries are rising, which pages lost clicks, whether organic traffic moved as Search Console says it did.

Give it a question rather than a dump. Ask where you rank between 8 and 20 for queries with real impressions, because those are the ones a better meta description or an FAQ might lift, then have the report end with two or three named pages to look at. Because OpenAI's help center describes dots as keeping context between conversations, you can ask for what changed since last month, and tell it to mention a missing connection plainly if Google is not linked.

The reports need a paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected in the app, and GA4 needs a property selected there too. Nothing a dot reads here can change your store, so this is the one job where a rule that allows unattended calls costs you little, and you can say that explicitly in the task. Even so, word it as reads only, so a later edit to the task cannot widen it by accident.

  3. storeseo_get_search_console_insights read-only
  4. storeseo_get_analytics_report read-only
  5. ChatGPT dots: Clicks rose against the previous 28 days, led by the Summer collection page. Three queries sit between position 8 and 20 with real impressions, and organic users rose in GA4 too.

Prompt 1
On the first of every month, use StoreSEO to pull Search Console clicks, impressions and average position for the last 28 days by query and page, and tell me the five biggest changes.
Prompt 2
Pull the GA4 traffic source report for the same range and tell me whether organic search grew or shrank against the previous period.
Prompt 3
Which queries do I rank between 8 and 20 for with high impressions? List the pages involved.
  • Which queries brought the most clicks from Google in the last 28 days, and how does that compare with the month before?
  • Which product pages have high impressions but a CTR under two percent?
  • Show organic search traffic from GA4 for the last three months.
  • Which countries send the most visitors, and on which devices?

What StoreSEO does: search console and analytics reports

StoreSEO connects to your Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 property. The agent reads Search Console performance by date, query, page, country, device or search appearance, and curated GA4 reports, each compared with the previous period by default.

Requires: A paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected in the app, and a GA4 property selected for Analytics reports.

  1. 1

    Pick the question

Search Console answers how you appear in Google: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. GA4 answers what visitors do: users, engagement, pages, sources and key events.

  2. 2

    Read the report

The agent reads the last 28 days by default, or the range you name, broken down by the dimension that fits the question.

  3. 3

    Compare periods

Both reports include the previous period of the same length and the change per metric unless you ask otherwise.

  4. 4

    Turn it into actions

The agent can link what it finds to the other jobs, for example pages with impressions but a low CTR are candidates for new meta.

Rules ChatGPT dots follows

  • Both tools are reads and run straight away.
  • Connecting Google or choosing the GA4 property is done in the StoreSEO app; the agent hands you the link when it is missing.
  • Numbers are reported as Google returns them; the agent does not project outcomes from them.

In ChatGPT dots

These reports need a paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected, and GA4 needs a property selected in the app. If the connection lapses, a scheduled dot will get an error where it expected data, so tell it in the task to report that plainly rather than fall back on last month's numbers. The date range defaults to the last 28 days, so set an explicit range if you want a calendar month.

What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.

Questions

Can a ChatGPT dot send me a monthly Search Console summary?

Yes, with a scheduled task that calls storeseo_get_search_console_insights and storeseo_get_analytics_report. Both are reads, and you need a paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected.

Why does my dot say Google reports are unavailable?

Google reports need a paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected in the app, and GA4 needs a selected property. Check the connection in StoreSEO, then rerun the task.

Can the agent connect my Google account?

No. Connecting Search Console and Google Analytics, and choosing the GA4 property, is done in the StoreSEO app. If Google is not connected, the tool returns a link telling you what to set up.

Can these reports change anything?

No. Both Google tools are read-only. They never connect, configure or write anything in Google or in your store.

Which plan includes Google reports over MCP?

A paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected. Analytics reports also need a GA4 property selected in the app.

How far back can the agent look?

You can name any date range the report supports. When you do not, both tools default to the last 28 days and compare it with the 28 days before.
