Read Search Console and Analytics with OpenClaw
Reading Search Console and Analytics with OpenClaw means your own agent runtime asks StoreSEO for clicks, queries, pages and traffic sources, either when you message it in a chat app or on a schedule that announces the report in a channel without you opening anything.

Set up OpenClaw for StoreSEO
Skip this if OpenClaw is already connected. The full guide, with the alternatives, is on the OpenClaw page.
- 1
Add StoreSEO to OpenClaw
Run this on the installation that owns the connector. The --auth oauth flag marks the server as an OAuth server, which is what openclaw mcp login needs.
Terminalopenclaw mcp add storeseo \ --url https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp \ --transport streamable-http \ --auth oauth
- 2
Sign in to your store
The login prints an authorization URL. Open it in a browser, pick your Shopify store and approve access. OpenClaw captures the redirect and saves the credentials.
Terminalopenclaw mcp login storeseo
- 3
Check the connection
The probe opens a live connection and reports the tools the server offers. A saved server entry proves nothing until the probe passes.
Terminalopenclaw mcp doctor storeseo --probe
How does this work in OpenClaw?
OpenClaw runs on your machine or server and you talk to it through a chat app such as Telegram, Slack or WhatsApp, or through its Control UI and CLI. Once the storeseo server is added and the probe passes, you message it a question like which queries brought the most Google clicks this month. OpenClaw calls storeseo_start, then storeseo_get_search_console_insights, and replies in the same thread with the ranked rows, the totals and the change against the previous period of equal length. A follow-up for GA4 triggers storeseo_get_analytics_report with the report type that fits, for example traffic_source.
The reason to pick OpenClaw for this job is the scheduler. Automations, also reachable as openclaw cron, wake the agent in an isolated session at set times and can announce the result in a channel. A Monday morning job can read the Search Console summary, read the GA4 traffic source report and post a short digest to your team chat, so the figures reach people who never log in to either Google product. Because both tools are reads, this is a good fit for unattended runs: nobody has to be there to say yes.
Keep the scheduled prompt report-only and say so in it. The prompt can ask for the top queries, the pages with the most impressions and the traffic sources, each compared with the previous period, and tell the agent not to preview, apply or generate anything. If a finding deserves action, such as a page with plenty of impressions and a weak click-through rate, reply in the chat that received the digest and ask for the change there, where you can answer StoreSEO's request for a yes. You can list past runs with openclaw automations runs followed by the job ID.
-
You: Send me last month's Google performance: top queries, then GA4 channels.
- storeseo_start read-only
- storeseo_get_search_console_insights read-only
- storeseo_get_analytics_report read-only
-
OpenClaw: Search Console clicks rose against the previous period, led by the query linen shirt women. In GA4, organic search is the largest channel. I can set this up as a Monday automation that posts here. Do you want that?
-
You: Yes, but make it report-only.
-
OpenClaw: Understood. The prompt will ask for reads only and skip any preview or apply step.
What to ask OpenClaw
Use StoreSEO to give me my top 10 Google queries by clicks this month and the change from last month.
Which pages get many impressions but a low click-through rate? Reply with page, impressions, CTR and average position.
Read the GA4 traffic_source report for the last 28 days and tell me which channel grew the most.
- Which queries brought the most clicks from Google in the last 28 days, and how does that compare with the month before?
- Which product pages have high impressions but a CTR under two percent?
- Show organic search traffic from GA4 for the last three months.
- Which countries send the most visitors, and on which devices?
- Which traffic sources led to purchases last month?
What StoreSEO does: search console and analytics reports
StoreSEO connects to your Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 property. The agent reads Search Console performance by date, query, page, country, device or search appearance, and curated GA4 reports, each compared with the previous period by default.
Requires: A paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected in the app, and a GA4 property selected for Analytics reports.
- 1
Pick the question
Search Console answers how you appear in Google: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. GA4 answers what visitors do: users, engagement, pages, sources and key events.
- 2
Read the report
The agent reads the last 28 days by default, or the range you name, broken down by the dimension that fits the question.
- 3
Compare periods
Both reports include the previous period of the same length and the change per metric unless you ask otherwise.
- 4
Turn it into actions
The agent can link what it finds to the other jobs, for example pages with impressions but a low CTR are candidates for new meta.

Rules OpenClaw follows
- Both tools are reads and run straight away.
- Connecting Google or choosing the GA4 property is done in the StoreSEO app; the agent hands you the link when it is missing.
- Numbers are reported as Google returns them; the agent does not project outcomes from them.
In OpenClaw
A scheduled automation has nobody to say yes, so word the prompt as reads only. Both Google tools are reads, which makes them suitable, but a loose prompt such as fix the weak pages could lead the agent toward a write. OpenClaw also has its own per-server approval setting, openclaw mcp configure storeseo --approval with approve, prompt or auto, so check it before you leave an automation running. Run the mcp commands on the installation that owns the connector, because another host needs its own reload before it sees storeseo.
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
Can OpenClaw post my Search Console numbers to a chat on a schedule?
Yes. An OpenClaw automation can run at a set time in an isolated session, call the two StoreSEO report tools and announce the result in a channel such as Telegram. Keep the prompt to reads, since a scheduled run cannot wait for a yes.
Why does the scheduled report say Google is not connected?
The report tools need a paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected, and Analytics also needs a GA4 property selected. Both are set up in the StoreSEO app. The tool returns a link to the missing step, and the automation will repeat that message until you fix it there.
Can the agent connect my Google account?
No. Connecting Search Console and Google Analytics, and choosing the GA4 property, is done in the StoreSEO app. If Google is not connected, the tool returns a link telling you what to set up.
Can these reports change anything?
No. Both Google tools are read-only. They never connect, configure or write anything in Google or in your store.
Which plan includes Google reports over MCP?
A paid StoreSEO plan with Google connected. Analytics reports also need a GA4 property selected in the app.
How far back can the agent look?
You can name any date range the report supports. When you do not, both tools default to the last 28 days and compare it with the 28 days before.
