Track keyword rankings with NanoClaw
Tracking keyword rankings with NanoClaw means telling your self-hosted agent in a chat which keywords matter, letting StoreSEO check Google positions, and having a scheduled task send you a short digest of what moved.

Set up NanoClaw for StoreSEO
Skip this if NanoClaw is already connected. The full guide, with the alternatives, is on the NanoClaw page.
- 1
Create a StoreSEO access token
In the StoreSEO app open Settings, AI Toolkit and generate a personal access token. Keep it out of chat messages and out of Git.
new message to NanoClawSettings → AI Toolkit → create a token
- 2
Add StoreSEO to your agent's container
Run this on the machine that hosts NanoClaw, using your agent group's ID from ncl groups list. The header goes in as a JSON object. NanoClaw may ask an admin to approve the change.
terminalncl groups config add-mcp-server --id <group-id> --name storeseo \ --url https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp \ --headers '{"Authorization":"Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"}' - 3
Restart the agent's container
The new server takes effect after a restart. Then message your agent with its trigger word, @Andy by default, and ask for your store's SEO score.
terminalncl groups restart --id <group-id>

How does this work in NanoClaw?
Rank tracking is a Pro feature, and it is the job where a recurring message pays off most. You message @Andy with the keywords and the market, for example soy candles for the United States, on mobile. The agent calls storeseo_start, then looks up the exact values with storeseo_list_rank_locations and storeseo_list_rank_languages, because storeseo_add_keywords needs those names verbatim and typing them from memory fails. It asks for the device, then adds the keywords. The rank check is queued, so the first read may show no position yet, and the agent should say so.
Reading is cheap. storeseo_list_keywords returns the latest rank and change, storeseo_get_keyword_history returns the dated history, and storeseo_list_competitors shows up to five competitor domains. This suits a NanoClaw scheduled task: every Monday morning, list the keywords that moved most, name any that left the top ten, and send the result to your chat. Because a scheduled task has no chat attached, the prompt has to name the destination, and it should say read only so the run never adds or deletes a keyword on its own.
Deletes are the part to keep in a conversation. storeseo_delete_keyword and storeseo_delete_competitor remove the history for good, and adding keywords counts against your plan's keyword limit. The tracker covers Google only, not AI answer engines, so ask the agent not to describe AI visibility from it. A digest in a chat thread also gives you a scroll back timeline, which is a simple way to see a trend without keeping notes.

You: @Andy use StoreSEO to track soy candles in the United States on mobile.
- storeseo_start read-only
- storeseo_list_rank_locations read-only
- storeseo_list_rank_languages read-only
-
NanoClaw: The exact values are United States and English. Adding the keyword counts against your keyword limit. Should I add it?
-
You: Yes, add it.
- storeseo_add_keywords needs approval
-
NanoClaw: Queued. Positions appear on a later check, so I will read them with the list call next time.

What StoreSEO does: keyword rank tracking
StoreSEO checks your Google rank for tracked keywords by country, language and device, records the history and compares competitor domains. Keyword clusters group related keywords around a product's focus keyword with search volume and difficulty.
Requires: Rank and competitor tracking are Pro plan tools. Keyword clusters spend AI Content Optimizer credit.
- 1
Pick the market
The agent looks up the exact country and language names the tracker accepts, because new keywords must use them verbatim.
- 2
Add keywords
After your yes it adds keywords with a country, language and device. Checks run in the background, so positions appear later.
- 3
Read ranks and history
It lists your keywords with the latest Google position, change, SERP features and competitor positions, and reads the dated history for any keyword.
- 4
Compare competitors
Up to five competitor domains are tracked alongside your keywords. To change one, it is deleted and the new domain added.
- 5
Build a cluster
For a product with a focus keyword, StoreSEO generates a cluster of related keywords in the background; the agent states the estimated credit first and polls until it is ready.

Rules NanoClaw follows
- On a plan without rank tracking, the agent explains the upgrade instead of calling the rank tools.
- Country and language names come from the lookup tools, never typed from memory.
- Deleting a keyword or competitor erases its history for good, so the agent confirms each one.
- A cluster needs a focus keyword set in the StoreSEO app; the agent states the estimated credit and waits for your yes.
In NanoClaw
On a lower plan the rank tools refuse, and a Monday task would just send you the same error each week. Test the question in a chat first. Also note that a scheduled task has no memory of what you said in other chats unless your agent group shares it, so the task prompt must spell out the keywords or say list all tracked keywords, and must say read only so a deletion is never part of it.
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.
Questions
Can NanoClaw send me a weekly rank digest?
Yes. Create a scheduled task with a cron recurrence, write the prompt as read only and name the chat where the digest should go, because a scheduled task has no conversation attached.
Can NanoClaw track how I appear in ChatGPT or Gemini?
No. StoreSEO's rank tracker checks Google only and does not track AI search engines, so a NanoClaw digest covers Google positions and the competitor domains you added.
Which plan do I need for keyword tracking through an agent?
Rank tracking and competitor tracking are Pro plan tools. On other plans the agent should explain that instead of calling them. Keyword clusters work on plans with AI Content Optimizer credit.
Does StoreSEO track rankings in AI search engines?
No. The rank tracker checks Google results by country, language and device. AI visibility is handled by the GEO score, llms.txt and agents.md jobs instead.
Why are new keywords pending?
Rank checks run in the background. Adding a keyword queues the first check, and its position appears in the keyword list once that check completes.
What is a keyword cluster?
A group of related keywords built around a product's focus keyword, sorted by search volume and scored for relevance and difficulty. It shows which wider terms the product page can target.
