Write SEO blog post drafts with Muse
Writing blog posts with Muse means asking Meta's personal AI agent to start a StoreSEO job that drafts a full, SEO-optimized article in one of your Shopify blogs, checking on it in the thread, and publishing it yourself after you have read it.

Skip this if Muse is already connected. The full guide, with the alternatives, is on the Muse page.
- 1
Send this message to Muse
Paste it into a new chat with Muse in the app, on muse.ai or in WhatsApp. Muse is rolling out in the US first, so you need access to it before this works.
new message to MuseAdd a custom connector for my Shopify SEO app StoreSEO: https://mcp.storeseo.com/mcp - It is an MCP server over HTTP and it signs in with OAuth. Send me the sign-in link and I will approve it. - Once it is connected, show me my store's SEO score breakdown.

Approve the sign-in for your store
Open the sign-in link Muse sends back, pick your Shopify store in the browser and approve access. Meta does not review custom connectors, so only approve this one if you started it.

Step-by-step guide in the docs: How to connect StoreSEO MCP to Muse
How does this work in Muse?
Tell Muse the topic, the blog and the length you want, and it calls storeseo_start and storeseo_list_blogs. The list returns each blog's numeric id, title and article count, and only blogs synced with StoreSEO appear, so an empty list means you sync them in the StoreSEO app first. Muse then calls storeseo_generate_blog_post with the blog id. The cost grows with word count and a featured image, so StoreSEO tells the agent to state the expected credit and wait for your yes, and the call fails before anything is spent if your credit is too low.
The writing runs in the background for a few minutes, and the thread is a good place to wait. Muse polls storeseo_get_blog_post_job until the status is completed, failed or cancelled, and should report steps completed out of total along the way. The draft article exists from the first moment of the run, before any text is written, so Muse should never call it finished early. If you leave the thread, you can come back and ask how far along the post is. This is the one job where the agent's persistence matters more than its speed.
When the job completes, the draft sits in your Shopify blog and nothing is live. Muse can call storeseo_get_resource_seo with resource type article to read its SEO score and failing checks, so you know what to fix before publishing. Publishing itself happens in Shopify admin, and Muse cannot do it. The copy comes from StoreSEO rather than from Muse, so do not ask Muse to paste its own text into the draft. If you want a different angle, start another job and accept that it spends credit again.
-
You: Use StoreSEO to write a draft on how to care for linen shirts.
- storeseo_start read-only
- storeseo_list_blogs read-only
-
Muse: I found a blog called News. The draft spends AI Content Optimizer credit, more with a featured image, and it is saved as a draft only. Should I start a 1,200 word post in News?
-
You: Yes, without a featured image.
- storeseo_generate_blog_post needs approval
- storeseo_get_blog_post_job read-only
-
Muse: Illustrative progress: 3 of 6 steps are complete. It is not finished yet, so I will check again.

What StoreSEO does: blog post drafts
StoreSEO writes a full blog post with AI and saves it as a draft article in the Shopify blog you choose, optionally with a featured image. Nothing is published: you review and publish from Shopify admin.
Requires: Spends AI Content Optimizer credit; the cost grows with word count and a featured image. Blogs must be synced in the StoreSEO app.
- 1
Pick the blog
The agent lists your synced blogs, the sections posts go into, with their ids. An empty list means the blogs need syncing in the StoreSEO app first.
- 2
Agree the brief and cost
Topic, keyword, length and whether to add a featured image. The cost grows with length and the image, so the agent tells you and waits for your yes.
- 3
Generate in the background
Writing takes a few minutes. The agent polls the job and reports progress, and does not present the post as finished while it runs.
- 4
Check the draft
When the job completes, the agent can read the draft article's SEO record. You review and publish the post from Shopify admin.
Blog post drafts reference
| Output | A draft article in the chosen Shopify blog, never published live |
|---|---|
| Featured image | Optional; uploaded with the draft and adds to the cost |
| Run time | A few minutes in the background |
| Insufficient credit | The call fails before anything is queued or spent |
| Blogs | Only blogs synced with StoreSEO are listed; syncing is done in the app |
| Failed runs | The job reports the error and credits are settled automatically |
Rules Muse follows
- The agent states the expected credit use and waits for your yes before it starts a post.
- Posts are saved as drafts only; publishing is done by you in Shopify admin.
- While the job runs, the agent reports progress and never presents the draft as finished.
In Muse
A job that runs for minutes may outlast the attention of a phone thread, and Muse's own limits on long tasks are not documented on the pages Meta publishes. Do not assume it will message you when the draft is ready. Ask for the status when you return, and read steps completed against total. If Muse says the job failed, the error message explains why and credits are settled automatically, but starting a new job is a new decision to confirm.
What runs without asking. Reads such as SEO scores, store listings, settings and Google reports run straight away. Generating a preview spends AI credit but writes nothing, and StoreSEO tells the agent to say what a generation will cost before it runs one. Applying content, optimizing images, changing settings, publishing llms.txt or agents.md, writing a product description and deleting anything wait for your yes in the conversation. That yes is an instruction the agent follows, not a lock on the server, so your client's own tool-approval setting is the hard stop.

Why can Muse not find my blog?
Only blogs synced with StoreSEO are listed. If the list is empty, sync your blogs in the StoreSEO app, then ask Muse to list them again.
Will the agent publish a blog post on my store?

How long does a blog post take?
A few minutes. The writing runs in the background and the agent checks the job until it is completed, failed or cancelled.
